Isoxaflutole (Balance®) carryover will cause bleaching, chlorosis and necrosis. However, isoxaflutole does not normally carryover and cause injury to soybean because of its short half-life in soil.

clomazone

Clomazone (Command®) injury rarely occurs if applied at labeled rates. The injury will appear as a yellowing of the leaf tissue with leaves turning white if injury is severe. There does not appear to be a uniform interveinal chlorosis symptom and older leaves will usually demonstrate symptoms first. Symptoms can occur after heavy precipitation on tissue previously unaffected. The injury is temporary and yield is not affected.

Norflurazon (Zorial®) normally does not cause soybean injury when applied preplant incorporated or preemergence. However, excessive rates, poor or non-uniform incorporation, soil compaction, and use on coarse-textured soils will increase likelihood of injury. If injury is severe, the unifoliolate or first trifolioloate leaves are white. In less severe cases, leaves will have white veination. The affected plants will outgrow the injury as developing root systems grow into untreated soil.
