Although rarely a problem, magnesium deficiency may occur on very sandy soils. Deficiency symptoms are pale green lower leaves, with yellow mottled interveinal tissue, which later show rusty speckling or bronzing. Both soil and plant analyses are good diagnostic tools. Correct with applications of dolomitic limestone, magnesium sulfate, or potassium magnasium sulfate. |
