Boron Toxicity

Toxicity can occur if boron is placed near the seed, particularly on low pH soils. Boron fertilizer rates above 2 lb B/acre are not recommended due to the potential for boron toxicity. Naturally occurring boron toxicity is extremely rare. Symptoms include yellowing to browning of leaf margins, puckered or crinkled leaves, and leaf edges that cup up or down. Continued browning of leaves and plant stunting occur in severe cases.
